Seaport Village

After checking out the USS Midway we went to Seaport Village to grab some lunch and look around. The view is beautiful from the village.

USS Midway

We when to the USS Midway Museum in downtown San Diego. The USS Midway is a 1940s carrier that is now a museum that is open to the public. We wanted to bring Madison on the ship so she could get any idea of what daddy's ship was like, also so I could see what it was like for Paul. He says sometimes he thinks, I think he is on a cruise ship. The ship was neat, I could easily get lost on that thing. Of course we could not look at the whole ship but you get to go on the different levels. In Virginia we went on the USS Wisconsin and you could only go on the main deck. I really liked seeing where the different ranks eat and sleep. I am so glad that I don't have to sleep in a berthing (room with racks) or in the small bunk. The worst part about the ship is the smell, it stinks! I guess it smells like a garage, with all the grease, gas, and sweat. I'm not sure if that is accurate or not but I know it stinks.

While we were waiting for the ship to open up we walked down the pier. Across the bay from the pier we were on was the USS Ronald Reagan (Paul's ship). So here in a picture of Maddie and Daddy sitting on the pier with the Reagan in the background.

The racks in one of the berthings, looks like it would be fun to sleep in ugh?

We got throw in the brig!

Madison training to be a pilot.

Madison and Daddy are going to move the plane on the flight deck.

Madison Allergic Reaction to shot

Madison got five shots on Monday and she had an allergic reaction to one of the shots. As you can see her arm is swollen, three inches long by three inches wide and and inch and a half high. So I had to bring her to the ER, we were at the hospital for like five hours. They gave her Motrin! I was there half the night and they gave her something I could have gave her at home. I sat there exposed to everyones germs and I'm still glad I brought her in to make sure everything was all right. They might have did something different if they knew which shot it was but they didn't know since she had four of the shots in the upper arms.

Lunch Before The Doctor

We had lunch at Einstein Brothers before going to the doctor. Madison wanted to get her picture with the big rock out in front of the building. After eating lunch we went to the doctor's appointment, a well child for 5yrs. I knew we would be get a few shots since my old doctor told me she needed shots before she started school. The doctor checked her and said she looked good. Then he said she would be getting four shots and a tb test if she needed it for school. I didn't know if she needed the tb test or not so we got it. So my poor little girl got five shot from one of the worse nurses I have ever met, I hope not to repeat that situation every again.

Living Room Update in Process

We got the call that the couch was in today so we went to make arrangements to have it delivered. They said they could deliver it tonight and since Paul was home we figured lets get it done today. Shortly after we left the store I seen that there was a message on the cell phone, they needed Paul to go back in to work. So I ended up waiting for the delivery guys. They showed up around 9:20 or so and they were super fast which was good. The couch looks so good and feels good too.

I plan on hanging a bunch of pictures up on the wall behind the couch as soon as I am sure where it will stay. We might end up moving it a few inches toward the table but we will see. The room is starting to come together. Pretty soon I will enjoy spending time in my own house.

Madison Birthday Day and presents from family

HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY MADISON!!!

Maddie got the My Little Pony Teapot Castle from Grandma and Grandpa. She used her birthday money from Grandma and Chuck to buy more ponies to go with the castle. She also got a My Little Pony skate park from Mom and Dad but I don't have the picture up. She has bee playing with these since she got them before her birthday. I let her open the presents as them came. She loves getting mail.
From Papa and Lorita she got a horse set and a Littlest Pet Shoppe Go Fish game. She bought a Disney princess nightgown with the money she got. The night has Sleeping Beauty and a few other princesses with a horse on it, I will have to get a picture of her in it to put on here.

The Nelson family got her a some educational toys; balance buddies, stuck on marbleworks and a work book.

Mom and Dad got her a Hannah Montana doll that sings. In the next picture she is dancing to the music from the doll. "You get the best of both worlds, mix it all together and you know it's the best of both worlds."

Madison inherited mommy's collection of horses (unicorns). These are her two favories, now they are all on the shelf in her room.

For Madison's birthday dinner we went to California Pizza Kitchen. She got a birthday sundae!

Madison and Melanie's Birthday

The "Birthday Cowgirls", Maddie and Melanie.
I can't believe the girls are five already. They will be starting school in July which doesn't seem possible. Any how we had their birthday party together since we had only a few days that everyone could make it, the important people and since the same people would be at both parties, might as well have them together.
It's not everyday that you see a pink horse with purple hair.

Madison's present from Uncle David, Aunt Kristi and baby Grant.
Madison with the Webkins dog from Uncle Andy, Aunt Janey, and the girls. Can I play with it on the computer. For those of you who don't know you can play with Webkins online and Madison loves playing computer games and games online.

Still Four

Madison was waiting for Aunt Janey to pick her up so they could make the cake for the party and do some other stuff. I the second picture I think that she looks like Paul.

The Couch Is On Order

Paul and I had the pleasure of spending the day together, Madison was spending the day with her cousins. Paul and I went out to for lunch at California Pizza Kitchen (one of my favorite restaurants), got some coffee/tea and went birthday shopping for Madison. We went to look at the couches again so we could make up our minds and place our order. It was nice not having to chase Madison around the store and talk to her every two minutes. When we went into the store I had two sofas in mind the one above and the one in the post from a few days ago. We decided that this sofa would work best for our family and the size is perfect. It is very casual. I can't wait until it comes in, it should be here around the 17th. The house is really starting to come together now. It is going to look so different with the new (clean) sofa. I also plan on hang move picture once I decide on how I am laying the furniture out. I will post before and after pictures, as well as works in progress.
